Review on Everything

Salam..

Been a while since i last blogged..I've been juggling between works and personal matters these past few days that i have lost track of time....but i have, at most times, concentrated on my personal matters that i have began losing focus on my works and it has now affected my career..wish i could have a wedding planner..that would certainly ease my burden..

sigh..just a wishful thinking


anyways, i am on mc today. having a runny nose and a bad cough while working is certainly not my forte as i could easily be irritated at almost EVERYTHING. so, rather than losing my energy at scolding ppl/clients unnecessarily, i chose to be resting at home..my home sweet home..


so by staying at home and having a me time definitely gave me the advantage of doing more research on my wedding..and that was when i realized that i have been neglecting my blog quite shamefully..it is supposed to be my journey to become one with him, but it was not reflected that way...so caught up with works and endless researches made me neglect my own wedding blog...oh well, i will just make do with the time that i have..last time i checked, 6 months to our nikah day..today, i have checked..and it shows approx 4MONTHS..yikes..excited and scared, that is how i am feeling now :)

anyways,

cant wait to start my life with him in our new house..oh alhamdulillah we have managed to get a house, a brand new house..it will be completed insya Allah December 2012 and we can move in 2-3months after that upon getting the CF..syukur alhamdulillah our housing loan was approved and everything is now settled, alhamdullilah..it is called Paragon 93 and i am so happy and thankful for this rezeki Ya Allah.. :)

  this is the sole reason why we (or should i say, "I"..hehe) bought this house..our very own courtyard IN the house..cant wait to see when it rains.. :)

syukur alhamdulillah...it costs us rm500++k and it is an intermediate unit..i have personally chose unit/parcel no 10 to coincide our nikah date, 10th of nov :)

anyways, enuff yapping about our dream house. lets move on to what i have intended to write about...my HONEST review on my engagement vendors :)

here goes :-

a) food (C.T Catering)

i personally like their professionalism....i would really recommend them to you guys who are still finding for catering services..eventho they came a tad bit late on my E-Day, but they get on doing their work fast. and very efficient..food wise, heard lotsa reviews from guests..but mostly good ones..their waiters are quick and well-mannered..i didnt hear any bad reviews about their waiters..their ayam masak merah is nice but maybe coz it was cut into tiny pieces, so it became hancur sikit..and ayam dendeng not really their forte..nasi was sedap and everythg else was superb..especially their teh tarik..they didnt use serbuk okk, they used real susu f&n for their teh tarik..i have asked for them to cater teh tarik again for my nikah, special request from my mum..huhu :)

price range is quite affordable, and service is ok, up to their standard. CT Catering has been long established and thats why i think they really control their professionalism and service..

b)  dress (sheila mo.hamad)

ok.i have been dreading to do a review on this.my personal thought of her is that mayyyyybeee she has loadsa clients when i approached her and just mayyyyyybe she has forgotten to do the things that i have specifically requested her to do on my dress. no doubt it looks simple and nice and quite appropriate for an engagement event. but i had specifically asked her to do certain detailings on the dress itself, namely :-

a) to add on the button bulat2 at the back (she calles it "butang cik abang tolong") instead of making just a mere zip..but she didn't do that..she did a zip :(

b) i didnt ask for a trail..but she gave me one..awkward for me who wants a simple dress as my event was done at home, not at any dewan..i dont need that trail..her reason : my tailor saje buat..terlupa la tu nak potong *wth???*

c) we have specifically asked her to terbalikkan the satin for my tunang's baju melayu as he didnt want the kilat part to be shown outside.he wanted the kilat part to be on the inside and the not so kilat part to be on the outside...

but what did he get?n what was the reason? same as (b) :(

further, my tunang has asked for pockets dekat seluar. the first time fitting she didnt do it. after my tunang has pointed it out, she said she will do it and return the baju melayu to us duly rectified. but did she do it? what do u think? sobs. my tunang was soooo marah that he sorta lashed it out on me coz i was the one who proposed to use sheila's service at the first place..huhu 

takpelahh...i am a pretty sabar person. but my fiance?huhu..just to inform we only paid 3/4 of the initialed payment after my fiance called her and complained.she has noted and agreed on the things not done and hence, she has agreed on the deduction payment by saying "tak paa..berapa2 pun boleh bayar"..

d) i think the detailing was maybe, a tad TOO simple for what we have agreed and paid for...but whatevs la..nasi sudah menjadi bubur

she is actually a pretty decent and nice fella. her house boutique is in Puchong 2, which is wayyy wayyy to far from my house. but disebabkan teruja dengan hasil kerja dia di magazine, i didnt care about all that..sanggup tu travel as far as puchong 2 semata2 to have a discussion with her

but tu lah..maybe not my luck..maybe yours will not be as mine..maybe i have opted for her service on a wrong timing. sigh

nevertheless, my dress looks...em, NICE..it's just my personal feeling that it should be BETTER based on the above

c) MUA-Laila Rohani

i thought she looked tough. and she is..hehe..she is that sort of a person who does not care what people think about her as long as she has her way and do her work the best that she can be..which is good for me but maybeee not good to some of my siblings..hehe..they thought that she is a snob.. :)

anyway, she was punctual..came around 6pm, started doing her work at 6.30pm and finished by 8+. as the rombongan came around 9+, she stayed with me and re-touched the lippie, the blusher and what not just before i was called to go "menghadap"..hehe..she is real nice and like a big sista...i feel like if she is my sister, she will go belasah whoever bullying me..huhu

anyways, my personal view bout my makeup..at first i thought it was sooooooooooo tebal as i could not recognize my own face..i have specifically informed her to go gentle on the makeup as my fiance is not one who likes his girl to be soo "contengs" by makeup..huhu...i thought i looked like cleopatra, what with the straight cut bangs, deep eyeshadow, heavy colored bronzer and foundation...most of her makeup thingy is by MAC, by the way

however, when i look at pictures (with the right lighting or whatever u call it), i see how it actually blends somehow. the eyeshadow, the nude lippie, the blusher...it looks natural...for night make up, it looks effortlessly made up :)

d) OP and OV - La Television and Photofreak

hmmm, what can i say..disebabkan nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga

we were engaged on 12th may..

and its July alreadyyyy...

and we still did not get our album and our video YET despite countless numbers of follow ups

the owner, Azli was nice the first time we met him..

i still believe that he is one nice, decent and hardworking dude..proud to have a working malay dude like him

but what makes us really turned off is his admin/PA/bini or whatever you call it...no PR..no sense of professionalisme..

u have got to master your EQ when dealing with ur clients ok..

when asked when can we get our album/photo, the reply that we got from his lady PA was :

"awak nak tau ke turn awak?takut awak terkejut je nanti"...

or something like that

seriously dude.. tskk

last we checked, azli said he will post our vid next week..

our album? he said its on the way..wallahualam

I am engagedddd :))

Alhamdulillah..12thMay2012 marks an eventful day for me, it was not just a day where i got really nervous and excited hence could not even smile properly..It was THE day where i have gotten engaged with him..Hehe

If i could rewind and turn back time, maybe i will erase few things that happened on the day itself but come to think of it..Nahh, i will just let it pass :) I was happy and still am relieving from the happiness since that day :)

I was dolled up till i could not even recognize my own face and the dress that i was wearing was a simple design with a few beadings and detailings..

I will make a post on a review of all things on that special day but ive to rush today to find my fiance's (haha..kelakar la to address him as my fiance..still need to get used to) hall..Suddenly, my fiance's fam have decided to have a separate reception and we've to find one this year jugak. Most of the halls ive been told have been fully booked till next year..Thank god ive booked my hall, Community Hall Bukit Damansara one year before my big day..But kesian my fiance, need to help him to find one..Ok that i will story later yah :)

On  to the most important thing, which is...

I have decided to rent/sell out my engagement's dress specially designed and custom-made for me by the designer Sheila.Mohamad..The cutting is divine, the color is soft and romantic (champagne) and the design is simple for engagement but stunning and romantic with the soft furl and beadings..It comes with a trail (not really long though) and simple shawl (with few batu-batu beads spread over it)..No doubt i feel like a princess on that day, with one of my cute dayang holding on to my trail when i sashayed to the mini pelamin..LOL.. :)

Ok, as they say, only pictures would do you justice..So here we go...

So the details of renting/selling are as folows :-

RENTING :-
-RM200 (includes dress & trail, and shawl)

BUYING :-
-RM400
-This dress will be delivered to you fully ironed (and wangi of course..huhu) and with Sheila.Mohamad big cover bag :)

MATERIAL :-
-Soft chiffon..Very lembut and the fact that the dress cuts into two (refer picture) to cover/camouflage your "cute" tummy (i was told by kak sheila..)..So that when u duduk at the pelamin, tak nampakla your over-bulging tummy mcm my tummy tu,,hehe..Perfecto tu cover perut muncitt :)
NEVER BEEN WORN SINCE MY ENGAGEMENT DAY :)

TERMS :-
-You can have the dress 2 days prior to your event whether you want to rent or buying it
-Advanced Deposit of RM200 plus Security Deposit of RM200 (Total : RM400) are to be paid upon pick up (for renting).
-Upon delivery of the dress (subject to the dress to be in a good condition), your Security Deposit of RM200 will be refunded back to you.
-As is where is basis (Meaning how u see is how u should return back in the original condition)-applies for renting and buying
-No need to cuci the dress after using..I will do the same for ya :) (for renting)
-Available for those Semi-petite girl and those M-size girls
-Can try out first then only decide you want to proceed or not ya. I am flexible on this :)
-Self pick-up

Updates

It has been been a whirlwind over these past couple of months, weeks, days..leading up to our engagement and wedding..

more chaos, more fights, more disagreements, more tolerance, more perseverance...

but it has turned out good, alhamdulillah :)

whatever fate we had, its all good, alhamdulillah

it brought us closer, it makes us stronger, and we love each other deeper and deeper each days..alhamdulillah :)

Soo, after much contemplation, we've decided...

todate, we have sorta finalized everything..from attires to catering to mini pelamin to dayang2 to panglima2 to makeup..here's the update :-

attires : kak sheila mohamad..fitting has yet to be confirmed

mua : kak laila rohani

dyg2 and panglima2 : kain given, up to them to accessorize :) cant waitt

hantaran : settled..

dulang : to be done by Tinaju Hantaran for my side and DIY for his side..noicee :)

ring : ooohhh, it will be a simple solitaire with diamond stud..comel..cant wait! :)

mini dais : shayana creation..good deal as it costs us rm350 only..we opted for modern design with loadsa mirrors :)

as for the official photographer for my nikah and sanding, ill be using abg ariff thani who has taken wedding pics for nora danish, anne ngasri and etc...apparently, he is the ex-husband of my sister's friend..so dptla save my moolah skit :)


and for pelamin dewan, after much drama, we have booked iz studio..minta2 la ok :)

Wedding Updates 2

Oooh just a quickie

since ill be on leave starting tomorrow, ive listed down all the things that i need to do in respect of my wedding prep during my holeedays..

first up, tomorrow im going to see Ministry of Moment. currently they're doing promotion on photography wherein rm1k to be charged per event. they are the official photog for umie aida's wedding, irwanshah's, andrea fronseka etc

then if time permits, i wana go and have a chat with kak sheila mohamad. she too is currently doing promo of rm1.5k for sewa baru nikah/sanding attire for both male and female with shoes and the accessory. ive always liked her works. so tomorrow gona see her insya Allah and book her if everything's ok.

ive also wanted to go and see mukhriz and udey photog, bring my mama and kakak to see the show house, go to Da'Vincy, go jalan-jalan to Nilai 2, go to Pameran Pengantin at I-City, celebrate new year and a whole lot moreee..

huhu excited

oh em, and Maze Lensa has confirmed that they cant attend to our solemnization and recep ceremony as their other client wants the date as ours as well. though i feel bad, its okla..takde rezeki :)

and ive also texted vee and confirmed that i would be paying the booking this week..weee :) such a nice lady she is. cant wait to meet her and to be dolled up by her, insya allah

and maybeee, just maybee..im cancelling raw notes..TBC

Tunang Ideas

alhamdulillah..

after months of thinking, ive finally decided on the theme for tunang..

considering that my family have the Malacca's Baba&Nyonya's blood in us, ive decided to use "Baba Nyonya" as the theme for my engagement..woot!hehe

so when my siblings and i went out to mamak for dinner just now, all was cleared and settled (at last!alhamdulillah)

no doubt i had few options before this on the theme. first was the Batik theme, then the Arab, then Moroccan then polka dots..huhu..the latter was hilarious come to think of it. imagine my khemah to be decorated in polka dots. eh, tapi mcm comel juge..hehe :)

anyways, in view that engagement is usually considered as the female side punya majlis, i thought, what the heck. this is the time and opportunity to introduce to my partner's family about our family's heritage, no? for me, engagement is like perempuan punya majlis and nikah is a joint occasion. takkan i nak terhegeh2 buat theme baba masa nikah and my partner takde theme since his whole family are purely 'Kay Ellllss' people..*ee boringnya..huhu*

so, this whole thing has made me giddy and excited.ive started on identifying who will be gadis dulang aka "The Girls".of course ive list out all the comel2 and eliminated all the tak comel girls.hehe.jahat..so ive came up with the list of The Girls :-

3-Ana

Attire for The Girls

The Girls will wear baju kebaya pendek nyonya with make up and hair-do will be done Baba&Nyonya style..

and paired it with this very the Baba&Nyonya beaded shoes...but i know it would cost me a bomb. so, just another wish hehe 

Hantaran

My hantaran to him (7 nos):-

I have this crazy idea to go to Malacca and get this Bakul Sia as the base for the hantarans...but this  bakul doesnt come cheap i tell ya. the cheapest you can get is around rm50 for one, and that is in small size. when i was younger, ive spotted one or two of these lying around in my rumah kampung but now there are gone. either kena songlap by cousins or was misplaced somewhere. if i knew that this bakul would cost me a fortune, i myself will songlap the bakul and simpan it for my engagement day..hehe

maybe i can get imitations like these bakuls so that it'll be cheaper..and i dont think much deco is needed on these bakuls.maybe few flowers here and there would be enuff :)


His hantarans to me (5 nos):-

I am not sure if his aunties would want to decorate it themselves or just leave it to me to decide. but that wont be appropriate, i think? hmm..anyways, just in case if his family leave it to me to do for his hantarans as well, i would have to find something to symbolize Baba&Nyonya to go along with the theme as his hantaran's base..TBC

Pelamin

Not sure on how i want my dais to be like. but i want some Baba&Nyonya theme to be injected on the dais a bit. Maybe add in one or two of these?

and this looks nice and authentic..deco for the pelamin maybe ? :)

Khemah

I really have no clue on what my khemah would be like but i know that it would be transparent with fairy lights and chandelier as requested by yours truly to the vendor. however, i am  undecided on whether i should do it at night or siang2 like norm. initially i wana do it at night coz it'll be cooler and mainly because of  the transparent tent.huhu teruja. but now, i was thinking to do it maybe after zuhur? so that i can go somewhere with The Girls and take more photos with them..hmmm...TBC

Food

this is this not decided yet but all i know i want white rice and lauk2 kampung. the lauk still need to be discussed with my family, what with Papa wants to masak lauk itik (malaccan tradition) beramai-ramai...TBC

MUA

ive verbally booked akak laila rohani TV3 (refer this post). but deep down i am a bit skeptical if she remembers me and jotted down the date and the details. reason being is that she didnt ask for the booking like most MUA. guess i need to call her and keep reminding her on the date once in a while. but i kinda feel that rm500 is a bit expensive for makeup and hairdo just for tunang?or am i being a cheapskate here coz its not everyday that u will get dolled up right?might as well DO IT RIGHT..huhu..tak kisahla..this one, TBC

MY BAJU

uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...i havent decide on it yet.seriously need to think abt it now that JAKEL is doing crazy sale (but bila je jakel tak buat sale kan?hehe)..i need to start thinking on the style, the material and most importantly the TAILOR..ive sketched up on the styles (refer this post) but still havent decide yet..need my kakak to think for me pls..hehe
